Kenya ICT board is expected to launch Kenya’s business process outsourcing (BPO) value proposition to the BPO Call Centre fraternity in Europe at the world’s largest Call Centre Expo in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
The board will leads a delegation of BPO operators and government officials to the expo where the board has sponsored a Country BPO stand to showcase what Kenya has to offer the world in terms of Business Process outsourcing.
This year a country theme has been embraced to attract investors and raise the profile of the country in this sector.
Eunice Kariuki, the Boards Deputy CEO Marketing said that the focus this year is on raising the profile of the country and positioning and marketing Kenya as a BPO destination. “We are not focusing on individual companies, rather on a country approach. We are launching our Kenya BPO value proposition and seek to truly encourage and investors to set up BPO companies in Kenya” added Kariuki.
During the visit the board along with the rest of the Kenyan delegation will also host a meet-and-greet event where over 60 selected decision makers running various BPO related companies in Europe have been invited by the delegation to attend. This promises to yield several useful contacts.
At this event Kenya’s BPO value proposition will be launched with the board’s Chairperson Ms. Catherine Ngahu being the chief guest.
At the close of the expo, the delegation will travel to London to meet Kenyans in the diaspora. This event is in recognition of the significant role the Diaspora plays in this industry. The At this event Kenyans living in England will be encouraged to invest in the sector and channel business leads and investors back home to Kenya. The Diaspora will also be taken through the Kenya BPO value proposition so that they understand it and own it and in so doing are able to relay the same to potential investors.
