It has been a battle of wits in Kenya following the introduction of non other than Black Berry mobile phone. We have vividly witnessed a fight over the market of the BlackBerry mobile phone between the two major mobile phone subscriber companies. Celtel Kenya limited had initially claimed to be the founders of the Black Berry in the Kenyan market while their competitor Safaricom are poised to have copied the idea.
The research that Daniel Muhuni an Information technology (IT) expert have done is that Black Berry technology seems to be new in third world countries and to my surprise this same technology was harnessed nine years ago in the United States of America and what I can witness is that the Blackberries that have been founded in Kenya are basically a damped technology.
But is there any thing good to be proud of with this BlackBerry mobile phone technology?
Black Berry provides wireless solutions to meet all your needs both at home and at work not only when you are stationed at a place but also when you are on the move. This special technology is made possible by use of push technology and this helps simplifying your business activities to meet the wireless requirements of your business.
As I focus in today’s technology it seems to explore into the horizon of novel innovations and brings the world at your doorstep in a batting of your eyelids. Most common examples are mobile phones that are making communication more viable and easy.
Blackberry has the latest technology that provides multiple applications in which the BlackBerry device’s phone constitutes all the special features of a mobile like call waiting, call answer, conference calling, call forwarding etc. Just like the mobile phones, different models of the Black Berry have different features like speakerphone, digital walkie-talkie, Blue tooth, SIP based IP telephony etc. The phones also feature hand free sets with headsets and provide comfort, clarity and convenience.
Blackberry comes along with a wireless internet meaning the Blackberry wireless device enables you to browse the Internet wherever you are, even when you are on the move.
Email: Black Berry is a wireless extension of your email mailbox and you can perform your normal email activities like sending or receiving mails, viewing attachment etc without any hassles like dialing or connecting.
The Black Berry device remains continuously connected to the wireless network enabling you to access your mail. Further more you need not have to retrieve your mail. The mail will appear on your Black Berry device anywhere anytime as long as there is network coverage. By this it gives the user a full control of his regular electronic mail.
The same blackberry phone has a tethered Modem that is inbuilt to the phone itself Certain Black Berry devices are featured with more speedy wireless services like fast email and browsing experiences. The device can be used as a tethered modem that allows you not to carry the wireless PC card. The device can become a tethered modulator demodulator (modem) to connect your desktop or the laptop to the Internet. This is particularly effective when you are traveling.
The mobile phone service providers have tried to convince Kenyans the need to have a blackberry but corporate organizations are poised to benefit from the technology since blackberry offers corporate data access. Through the wireless connectivity of the BlackBerry, business goals can be achieved with access to the corporate data even when you are not in the office.
